In May, we adopted Daisy who was in the Logan county puppy mill bust from your shelter. She was the cavalier that had one blue and one brown eye. She was 25 pounds out of the puppy mill to you and then 21 pounds when we got her. She is down to 12 and 1/2 pounds and is a healthy weight. Her eyes used to bug out because she was so fat...but now they look fine. She used to snore even when she was awake and in fact the first night she was here you could hear her throughout the entire house. Her swayback is much better!
She is a completely new dog and I thought I'd share her most recent accomplishment! She started doing a little agility which my other cavaliers do for confidence and fitness and she has gotten so comfortable with it that I let her try doing it up in Springfield at an agility show we were at with our other dogs. She ran in jumpers and was jumping over bars set at 4 inches which is pretty short but amazing for a dog who could only waddle like a penguin 6 months ago. After first run, on Sunday, I brought her into the ring on a leash and she was a lot more confident at the start.
I hope you enjoy watching these and they are a reminder of the great life dogs can have after they leave the shelter .....and also what a diamond in the rough some of them are!
